TUSCANY IN BUCKHEAD
Byline: Subira Shaw
The latest addition to Atlanta’s Buckhead dining district, Brio Tuscan Grille caters to those desiring fine food in an elegant, but casual atmosphere. Located on Peachtree Road, down the street from the main crop of restaurants, the bustling eatery contains a bakery, terrace and exposed kitchen reminiscent of true Tuscan dining.
On an average night, the interior of Brio, meaning “full of life” in Italian, is filled with conversation enhanced by cathedral ceilings. From the frescoes on the walls to the authentic Italian soundtrack and linguistically correct male and female restroom designations, Brio invites its patrons to sample a slice of pure Mediterranean culture.
Brio’s offerings are hearty and diverse, emphasized by Tuscan culinary techniques. After a requisite helping of crispy flatbread, followed by calamari or vine-ripened tomatoes and salad, the palate is ready for entrees such as wood-grilled strip steak topped with Gorgonzola cheese or Pacific oak-roasted halibut. A selection of colorful pastas, chicken and chops is also available in generous portions.
Having just opened in October, Brio should quickly become the known spot for beginning or ending an evening with good fun and great food in lively environs. Brio is located at 2964 Peachtree Road; (404) 601-5555.
