The Breitling Jet Team will be returning to the U.S. for the second consecutive year.
The aerobatic team consists of seven pilots flying L-39 C Albatros jets in a synchronized display of precision and speed. At times, the planes reach speeds of 565 mph and fly within a few feet of one another. The team is the world’s largest professional civilian jet team. It will hold shows throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“The 2015 tour was really unbelievable as the Breitling Jet Team performed for thousands of people across North America, so we were really excited to bring the team back for the second year of their inaugural North American Tour,” said Breitling USA president Thierry Prissert. “The response from last year’s tour, was overwhelming and the audiences who came out to see the team last year were simply amazing and excited. The team’s precision and synchronized movement perfectly encapsulates the essence of Breitling and our watches.”
Breitling established the Jet Team over 13 years ago and in 2015, the group held 17 air shows in North America including flyovers at some of the countries’ most famous landmarks including the Statue of Liberty, Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Mount Rushmore.
Breitling released two limited-edition commemorative chronograph watches in conjunction with the Breitling Jet Team American Tour. The Chronomat 44 Breitling Jet Team American Tour model is limited to 500 pieces and features a black steel case, onyx black dial, and yellow accents similar to those used on the jets, as well as the Chronomat GMT Breitling Jet Team American Tour, which is limited to 250 pieces. The watches are available at Breitling Boutiques and select retailers across the U.S. The Chronomat 44 retails for $9,825 and the Chronomat GMT sells for $10,485.
