LENDING A HAND: Glove or hand jewel? French glove-maker Causse, part of Chanel’s bouquet of specialty ateliers, has collaborated with Paris-based jeweler Atelier Paulin on two models of leather gloves, bearing words in gold reminiscent of chain bracelets. The words are destin, amour, chance, vie and esprit (or destiny, love, luck, life and spirit, in English) and come in gold-filled, 14-karat wire.
The model with one word is priced at 418 euros, or $475 at current exchange, and 631 euros, or $717 for a model festooned with three words. In addition, customers will be able to have their pair tailor-made with their own words written.
They will be available at Causse’s Paris boutique and e-shop as well as on Atelier Paulin’s web site in September. Atelier Paulin, created by Anne-Sophie Baillet in 2014 and specializing in jewelry with precious metal wire, is currently sold at a dozen retailers including Colette and Le Bon Marché.
