It was a quiet Tuesday night at the 14th Street entrance of the High Line in New York when, suddenly, an onslaught of flashbulbs erupted — the Chloës had arrived. Chloë Grace Moretz and Chloë Sevigny were just two of the actresses who came to Coach’s annual summer soiree to benefit the Friends of the High Line organization. Photographers caught the two of them as they gamely posed with Stuart Vevers.
Moretz shoved her fringed Coach clutch at a young man nearby. “He’s my brother,” she said. The trio preened for the cameras before going their separate ways. Sevigny only managed to travel a few feet before being pulled into a seemingly serious conversation with a male bystander. A devout “Big Love” fan? An upcoming film deal? “He wants to get into my brother’s club,” Sevigny whispered, followed by a raucous laugh.

The bash was Vevers’ first since becoming the brand’s executive creative director late last year. His only mandate for the organizers: “Fun.” And with an Instagram-ready photo booth, dessert buffet and surprise performance by Nineties hip-hop trio De La Soul, he could not have left disappointed.
Kate Mara, Keri Russell, Susan Sarandon, Riley Keough and Vanessa Bayer of “Saturday Night Live” were among the other actresses mingling on the elevated stretch.
For Russell, the party served as a first of her own: the New York resident had never been to the High Line. After ascending the stairs — in four-inch Jimmy Choo pumps, no less — the actress paused to take in the scene. “I love it,” she exclaimed, volume turned to a full 11. “No, I really do. Edward Norton helped fund this, and I remember him talking about it.…Look at this. This is great.” Russell sauntered off, Red Stripe in hand, to do a bit more exploring, pausing briefly to greet and pose for pictures with Mara.
The former “House of Cards” actress — Zoe Barnes, RIP — was in town for just less than 24 hours before heading back to Louisiana, where she is filming the upcoming reboot of “The Fantastic Four,” in which she plays the Invisible Woman. “It’s going great,” she trilled, sporting a new ombré hairdo. “It’s hard work but it’s an amazing cast and crew. We’re really close to New Orleans, so the cast has gone there and bonded a little bit.” In lieu of a proper summer vacation, Mara was taking a one-woman tour of Louisiana’s finest hotel offerings. “I think by the end of the shoot I’ll be able to write a blog on hotels,” she said. “Every weekend, I’m like, ‘Let’s try this one.’”
