TAKING A BOW: Hair tie accessory brand Emi-Jay has a tie-in with celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan. McMillan, famous for handling the locks of Jennifer Aniston, who has worn Emi-Jay on the red carpet, has created $16 grosgrain bows launching March 15 in blue, black, white, pink and red with the brand. McMillan explained that the “grosgrain bow was created when I was working with one of my clients who is designing a shoe collection with grosgrain elements. Grosgrain is a classic fabric, but we gave it a modern-day feel. I like to use them to accessorize a messy bun or high ponytail.” Now college students, Julianne Goldmark and Emily Matson started Emi-Jay when they were in eighth grade, and it has spread to more than 3,000 stores, including Nordstrom, to surpass $5 million in annual sales.
