BERLIN — In the latest instance of trade fair consolidation, Panorama Berlin, the platform for more large-scale or commercial brands, has acquired Selvedge Run, which dubs itself the “trade show for quality garments and crafted goods.”
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The two fairs have cooperated for two seasons, with Selvedge Run taking up residence in Panorama’s home base on the Berlin fairgrounds, though in a separate location.
That is due to change, with Selvedge Run to be integrated into the overall Panorama set-up, taking pride of place near the main entrance.
“Selvedge Run stands for authentic brands, products of strong character and handcraft,” commented Panorama chief executive officer Jörg Wichmann. “We consider the fusion an important step toward strengthening our direction and vision for the future as well as pushing international industry topics further into focus.” He added that the integration of Selvedge Run would help Panorama reach new target groups, and create synergies.
As for the much smaller Selvedge Run, cofounder and sales manager Shane Brandenburg noted the scope and organizational power of Panorama will help the denim-driven platform’s brands reach a broader public. Brandenburg will remain the “face” of Selvedge Run, as well as overseeing a new portfolio segment addressing the themes of “Current, Sport and Active.”
The next edition of Panorama will be held in the German capital from Jan. 15 to 17.
