COPIOUS EXPANSION: Social marketplace Copious has commissioned Brad Goreski to help celebrate the social marketplace’s official foray into men’s wear. Starting Tuesday, copious.com will offer both new and vintage men’s items, marking the first significant expansion since the site revealed the $5 million in funding secured in July (bringing the total amount raised to $7.65 million). Goreski himself will be selling apparel and accessories from his own closet (including a pair of jeweled Prada lace-ups) with proceeds going to The Trevor Project and Dogs Without Borders. Currently, there are several hundred thousand users on the almost one-year-old site that primarily targets women, according to co-founder and chief operating officer Jonathan Ehrlich, who said that after observing a men’s market “emerge on its own,” the company sought to elevate the category site-wide and actively find sellers to build liquidity for this audience. Next up for Copious: a focus on the mobile shopping experience and simplifying shipping options. “We want to make the process as close to one click as possible,” Ehrlich said.
