BONJOUR CHICAGO: French costume jewelry brand Les Néréides plans to open its first locale outside of Paris here on Thursday. Why the Windy City? “As Chicago is the sister city of Paris, it’s only fitting,” said Emilio Benzadon, exclusive U.S. distributor of the jewelry. The city is “the perfect setting for a showcase of French elegance and sophistication.”
The 520-square-foot store, located at Block 37, will carry the brand’s full collection, including handmade earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, charms and brooches as well as fragrances and candles. Jewelry materials include 18-karat gold-plated brass, fresh water pearls, bohemian crystals, cut and faceted handmade glass and semiprecious stones. Prices range from $60 to $300.
After finding the right retail location, Benzadon said the timing was right to bring the brand Stateside. “Les Néréides is incredibly unique — it’s like no other jewelry design…ladies all over the world are drawn to the whimsical nature of the brand.”
