SUITE SENSATION: The star suite of Les Sources de Caudalie “vinotherapy” spa, near Bordeaux in France, has a new look.
Delphine Manivet, the designer know for her couture wedding gowns and dresses, was tapped to decorate the one-bedroom accommodation perched on stilts, which is called L’Ile aux Oiseaux (or Bird Island). It was inaugurated on Feb. 4.
The suite now comes in shades of cream, pale pink and white. Details include silk crepe curtains, a desk of white sycamore and a period sofa.
“I am fascinated by the codes and customs of women from the 18th century, and I wished that the client who stays here feels like a countess or marchioness during her sojourn,” Manivet said.
L’Ile aux Oiseaux has had other designer tie-ins. It was decorated by Maxime Simoëns in 2013 and by Maison Martin Margiela in 2010.
