NEW YORK — DKNY and Opening Ceremony are the latest fashion collaborators.
The Donna Karan International brand and the influential retailer are teaming on a limited capsule collection featuring several key DKNY looks from its early Nineties archive. The 15 pieces, which will hit Opening Ceremony boutiques in New York, Los Angeles, London and Tokyo, as well as openingceremony.us on Friday, capture the moment DKNY made a fashion statement with branded pieces featuring its famed New York landscape print and body-conscious silhouettes.
“DKNY was a pioneer of streetwear fashion in the Nineties,” Opening Ceremony cofounder Carol Lim said. “We have been longtime fans of the brand and were very excited to bring back select, quintessential styles that feel fresh even today.”

Those styles include a cropped puffer jacket, a logo T-shirt, bodysuit and hooded sweatshirt, as well as leggings and a hooded jumpsuit from 1991; a T-shirt with an image of the New York skyline from 1992, and a hooded logo dress and a color-blocked jumpsuit from 1994. Retail prices range from $145 to $665.
Jane Chung, executive vice president of design for DKNY, said she has admired Opening Ceremony practically since its 2002 opening. “Their unique and creative point of view mixed with Nineties throwbacks are very reminiscent of DKNY’s core DNA,” Chung said. “They were a natural partner to reissue iconic styles from our early years.”
