KARAN’S MOMENT: So how is Donna Karan feeling about being featured on Barbara Walters’ upcoming TV special, “The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2015?”
“It’s because of you guys; I had nothing to do with it,” said Karan, who was taped for the show last week at the Urban Zen Marketplace. The show airs Thursday, Dec. 17 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
Karan said she and Walters have a long history together and have done many interviews. Walters was the first person she communicated with after Anne Klein died and Karan was on her TV show. “That was over 40 years ago,” Karan said. Did she tell you why you were selected? “Nope,” she said.
During the taping, Karan and Walters looked back at the designer’s life, where she is today and Urban Zen.
“She [Walters] was wearing Urban Zen and looked fantastic. We should all look as good as Barbara Walters, that’s all I have to say,” said Karan, who was also dressed in all black Urban Zen for the show. “We’re good book ends,” she said. “One thing I know about Barbara is she has great lighting. Two women who always have great lighting are Oprah and Barbara,” Karan said.
Asked her opinion about some of the other people selected, such as Amy Schumer and Bradley Cooper, Karan blurted out, “He’s hot.”
Meantime, Karan will be opening an Urban Zen store in Aspen on Dec. 18 and plans to spend the Christmas holiday with her family in Parrot Cay.
