SOVEREIGN SNAPS: Kensington Palace has released four royal portraits of Princess Charlotte’s christening, taken by Mario Testino. They were shot in the gardens and Drawing Room of Queen Elizabeth II’s estate at Sandringham in Norfolk following the baptism service held at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene on July 5.

“Photographing Princess Charlotte’s christening was an amazing experience,” Testino said. “What impressed me the most was the energy of the family, and of that between the duke and duchess. One sees how solid they are together and one gets a sense of their strong family values. It was incredible to be able to document four generations of the British Royal Family together — the monarch and three heirs to the throne — and very heartwarming to see the close relationship between them all.”

In one photo, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are with their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, in the garden at Sandringham House. Another image shows the Duke of Cambridge holding Prince George in the garden.
Another photo shows the Duchess of Cambridge holding Princess Charlotte in the Drawing Room at Sandringham House. The royal mom wore an ivory Alexander McQueen coatdress and a white Jane Taylor hat with feathers.
From her own wedding to Prince George’s baptism, the British designer is a go-to label for the Duchess of Cambridge for her royal moments.

The little princess donned the same Victorian-style gown worn by Prince George during his baptism. The silk, satin and lace, is a copy of one worn by legions of royal babies from 1841 to 2004. The original gown was designed for the baptism of Victoria, Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their whole family had a wonderful day on Sunday and were delighted to share the special occasion with the thousands of people who came to Sandringham,” said a Kensington Palace spokesman. “They are very happy to share these photographs and hope that everyone enjoys them as much as they do.”
