Epicurious is continuing its evolution with a slate of new hires.
The recipe-centric Web site, which is gearing up for a relaunch this summer, hired Self’s former features director Adina Steiman, Rhoda Boone, a food stylist, who will serve as Epi’s food editor and Brittany Inness as social media editor.
Steiman, who joined Epicurious on May 27, has served as Men’s Health’s food and nutrition editor, as well as Everyday Food’s senior editor. Joining Epi on June 16, Boone comes to the Web site, following food stylist stints at Bon Appétit, Refinery29 and Food + Wine. She has also styled for Food Network and the Cooking Channel.
Lastly, Inness joins Epi in the newly-created role of social media editor starting June 16.
Editor in chief Nilou Motamed said, “We are already seeing traffic increases as a result of our expanded content, and we’re just getting started. It’s a very exciting time here.”
Although recipes still drive the bulk of its traffic, Epicurious has experienced monthly growth. According to Omniture, the site had 8.6 million visitors in May, which represented a 26 percent increase over the prior-year period.
