Tonight is Isaac Mizrahi’s big AIDS Project Los Angeles extravaganza, and the designer says he’ll go all out by wearing a tuxedo for one of the few times in his life.
Jane Stubbs, the Southern mistress of New York’s popular bookstore and salon, Stubbs Books and Prints, is branching out. With her new partner, Kinsey Marable, Stubbs is opening another shop on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington’s Georgetown this September. “He has all the things I lack,” says Stubbs of Marable. “Like financial expertise.” The two are celebrating the alliance with a party next week at Marable’s Georgetown house for author John Berendt.
Last weekend’s disastrous San Marino Grand Prix in Imola, Italy, in which three-time champion Ayrton Senna was killed, also touched the fashion world. Khadija Adam, an Yves Saint Laurent model for eight years, lost her fiance, Austrian driver Roland Ratzenberger, who died after a crash. They were to be married this summer.
Lee Radziwill is leaving her post as director of special events for Giorgio Armani “to pursue other interests,” the company said. Radziwill, who has been with Armani for eight years, will continue to act as a consultant.
