MILAN — Fondazione Altagamma has revealed the winners of its annual awards. Founded in 1992, the association gathers high-end national cultural and creative companies, globally recognized as ambassadors of Italian style.
Divided into seven categories — fashion, jewelry, design, digital, motors, hospitality and food — this year handbag brand Benedetta Bruzziches and jewelry label Delfina Delettrez received the prizes for the fashion and jewelry divisions. Other winners included design company More, founded by architect Valentina Moretti; digital platform Lovethesign, the first home design-focused online destination; luxury yacht company Evo Yachts; the Venissa resort, located near Venice, and high-quality oil producer Frantoio Muraglia.
Launched in 2015, the “Premio Giovani Imprese — Believing in the Future” prizes honor young companies that stood out for the quality of their products or the services offered and showed growth potential in the medium- to long-term.
“We continue our path of supporting some of the most promising realities among the new Italian companies,” said Fondazione Altagamma’s general director Stefania Lazzaroni.
In addition to increase the competitiveness of the high-end industry and support Italy’s economic growth, the association aims to guarantee the country’s leading position in the cultural and creative fields through this competition and offering mentorship programs to the winners.
“We believe that the mentorship and relationship between excellent brands and new companies is a useful experience to strengthen the abilities of working together and help each other, which are crucial for the country,” Lazzaroni concluded.
For the first time, an advisory board was created to select the candidates and elect the winners. The committee included members of the competition’s sponsors, such as L’Uomo Vogue and Vogue Italia’s director Franca Sozzani, Italian stock exchange chief executive officer Raffaele Jerusalmi, Maserati’s ceo Reid Bigland and SDA Bocconi’s dean Giuseppe Soda, in addition to representatives of Pitti Immagine and Yoox Net-a-porter, among others.
The winners will have a free membership to Fondazione Altagamma and be offered a customized mentorship for 2017. The Italian stock exchange will offer a training program as part of its Elite project, with the opportunity to test and consider the eventual interest of international investors. Maserati will provide its formative program to the motors’ category winner while SDA Bocconi will offer an executive management training day to all of the winners.
