TEO EXITS: Georg Jensen creative director Marcus Teo is stepping down from his role, effective immediately. The stylist and creative director joined the Danish heritage silver goods and jewelry label in May 2014.
The brand said there are no immediate plans to replace Teo, who in his 18-month tenure had been charged with conceptualizing and executing branding, content, campaigns and digital initiatives.
Teo’s last day will be Friday. When reached by phone Thursday evening, Teo described his departure as a “mutual decision.”
“About a year-and-a-half ago [Georg Jensen chief executive officer] David Chu had asked me to join the team to realize his greater vision of bringing Georg Jensen back into the world of art and design. I was charged to take care of the brand, a new digital transformation and creating great relationships for the brand within the worlds of fashion, art and design.
“I feel that in a very short year-and-a-half, I’ve done what I came to do,” Teo said.
He added that he plans to take a respite from work but is presently in talks with other brands to aid in their own “digital transformations.”
Chu said of Teo’s tenure: “We thank Marcus for his commitment to Georg Jensen and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
