NEW YORK — Giorgio Armani plans to open its 11th collection boutique in the U.S. in May, having secured a 4,500-square-foot space at Atlanta’s Phipps Plaza.
The store, at 3500 Peachtree Road N.E., will carry the Giorgio Armani collections for women and men, the Giorgio Armani Classico collection and accessories for men and women. The store will reflect the look of the 57 other Giorgio Armani boutiques around the world, designed by Armani with architect Claudio Silvestrin.
Bolstered by the addition of 30 stores, the introduction of new products and the entry into new markets such as China, Armani saw consolidated sales expand to $1.37 billion in 2002. The U.S. is Armani’s largest market, accounting for 28 percent of sales.
“I’m always looking to create an environment where the store architecture supports the presentation of the collections in a way that is modern and accessible for our customers,” Armani said in a statement. “This new boutique in Phipps Plaza is an example of this philosophy.”
