GREEN STREAK: Kering is on a green winning streak. Just weeks after scooping two environmental awards for its pioneering accounting system, which translates the French group’s environmental footprint into monetary value, Kering has been recognized as one of the greenest companies worldwide by Newsweek magazine’s Green Rankings.
The French luxury, sport and lifestyle group took the number-one spot in the consumer discretionary category, which lists nonessential goods and services, and ranked fourth in the magazine’s overall Global 500 list of publicly traded companies.
Marie-Claire Daveu, chief sustainability officer and head of international institutional affairs at Kering, noted “this level of recognition encourages us to continue our efforts to enhance the sustainability of our business.”
