BETTER TO GIVE: Gucci is approaching the holiday season with a Christmas wishlist made in Eden. The Italian fashion house teamed with artist and director Floria Sigismondi to create its 2016 gift-giving campaign film, which debuted on the brand’s Web site on Nov.15.
Inspired by the story of the Garden of Eden, the movie features male and female models peacefully living in a dream-like garden, surrounded by luxuriant plants and exotic animals, including tigers, zebras, birds, bees, bunnies and even a unicorn.
Blending myth and reality, this oneiric version of the Gucci garden is completed by snakes, trees and apples, direct references to Adam and Eve’s story.
Styled by Jonathan Kaye, models Polina Oganicheva, Maryna Polkanova, Nika Cole, Matt Doran, Domink Hahn and Dwight Hoogenduk showcase a selection of accessories presented along with cruise 2017 apparel designed by Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele.
Handbags, footwear, watches and jewelry all feature Gucci’s signature motifs, including hearts and snakes embroidered on the iconic GG pattern; tiger embellishment on sneakers and Princetown fur slippers; watches adorned with golden bees, among others.
