GUCCI’S GUEST: James Franco was the guest of honor at Gucci’s Hong Kong bash on Thursday night to fete the brand’s Flora Knight collection.
Franco, who just wrapped up filming “Zeroville” this week was sporting a freshly shorn head and a moustache. In town a couple days, Franco said he’d been enjoying some “great food” including dim sum and also got to take in some of the sites, including a visit to the Heritage Museum in Tsim Sha Tsui where he checked out the Bruce Lee exhibit.
The actor, who has been appearing in ads for Gucci since 2008, said he was looking forward to spending time with his family over the holidays and also promised “a lot” more spoofs with Seth Rogen.
Meanwhile, Canadian painter Kris Knight, who designed the Flora Knight collection for the brand, mingled with guests in Gucci’s Central store and did some illustrations for show.
“It smells great,” Knight gushed about the city. “It has a very unique, fresh smell.”
Also at the cocktails were Taiwanese actor Ethan Juan and Hong Kong martial arts actor Donnie Yen.
The evening continued with dinner, art viewing, and dancing at a nearby restaurant in the new California Tower in Lan Kwai Fong. Gucci booked out three of the building’s 27 floors, with one floor reserved for dancing, another set up as an art gallery and a third transformed into a dance floor.
