Hanky Panky is changing up the c-suite.
Retail veteran Brenda Berger has returned to intimates apparel brand and will now serve as co-chief executive officer. The role was made effective in August.
Berger will be working alongside cofounder Lida Orzeck, who will also serve as co-ceo. Prior to Berger’s appointment, Orzeck was working as the sole ceo.
“It is with tremendous enthusiasm that we share the news of Brenda Berger’s return to Hanky Panky,” Orzeck said in a statement.
“We are looking to continue our brand expansion into new categories and capitalize on strong interest from new markets, so we knew it was time to bring in a leader who could take our business into the next chapter,” Orzeck continued. “Brenda has the ability to partner with our current team and ensure our core values are supported as we continue to grow and expand our brand reach. She has a fundamental appreciation for how we have operated for 42 years and a respect for our ‘Made in the USA’ commitment.”
Berger, a Hanky Panky alum, previously served as vice president of sales at the company for nearly a decade, between 2004 and 2013. Most recently, Berger served as North America country manager at Happy Socks, overseeing the North American division and helped open the New York City office. She also had a stint at jewelry company Trollbeads, where she served as president and ceo.
Hanky Panky is a private New York City-based company, which was founded in 1977 by Orzeck and Gale Epstein. The company sells women’s intimates and sleepwear, and sells by way of its web site, wholesale channels and specialty retail boutiques nationwide.
