LONDON — I-D magazine has corralled 18 emerging and established fashion names — among them Kate Moss, Jourdan Dunn and Lara Stone — to celebrate its 35th birthday by each starring on different anniversary covers of its summer 2015 issue, all shot by Alasdair McLellan.
Alongside Moss, Dunn and Stone, the 18 covers feature models including Daria Werbowy, Edie Campbell, Natalie Westling and Stella Tennant — all of whom are pictured doing i-D’s signature wink.
McLellan is also responsible for the entire issue’s photography, having shot John Waters, Amanda Harlech, JW Anderson and Patrick Schwarznegger for stories in the edition. The different covers have all been posted on i-D’s Web site, at i-d.co.
The anniversary issue, which hits newsstands Thursday, May 28, celebrates i-D’s original print form as the title has broadened its digital identity. In late 2012, Vice Media acquired i-D from its founders Terry and Tricia Jones, and in 2013 the title relaunched its Web site with a focus on fashion and video content, at i-d.co.
Earlier this year, i-D said it will expand its video and editorial teams in New York, and is planning to open offices in Asia. Meanwhile, the title’s YouTube channel counts 100,000 subscribers and has had 21 million views.
