FRIENDS INDEED: Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux not only managed to pull off a top-secret wedding Wednesday at their Bel-Air mansion, but they seem to have their nearest and dearest sworn to secrecy. While the actress’ ensemble remains a mystery, her wedding band – as well as Theroux’s – were designed by her friend Jennifer Meyer. Fashion types know the Los Angeles-based jewelry designer for her talents, but moviegoers might be more inclined to link her to husband Tobey Maguire. In any event, Meyer had a publicist decline comment on the Aniston nuptials — all in the name of friendship.
Her publicist said Aniston prefers to keep the details of the ceremony private. She appears to be following the lead of another Hollywood bride, Cameron Diaz, who preferred to keep all of her bridal photos under wraps.
As for what the “Friends” star wore to walk down the aisle, Saint Laurent could be a possibility. Asked Thursday night if a wedding-related release was in the works, a Saint Laurent spokeswoman said “no comment.” Aniston splurged on a $50,000 Lawrence Steele gown in 2000 to exchange vows with her first husband Brad Pitt. But her style sense has leaned more European in recent red-carpet appearances. Aniston wore Versace for this year’s Oscars and she also has been spotted on the step-and-repeat in Valentino, which has created a slew of high-profile wedding dresses this summer.
Fans will have to wait to see whether she sold her wedding photos to a magazine to benefit St. Jude Medical or one of Aniston’s other favorite charities. An investor in Living Proof hair care, Aniston no doubt had her team out in force Wednesday with her go-to hair stylist Chris McMillan by her side. He did not respond to a request for comment. (Ditto for Aniston’s stylist and publicist.) In fact, the code of silence seemed to extend to wedding guests as well, which reportedly included Lake Bell, Scott Campbell, Terry Richardson, Emily Blunt, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen DeGeneres, Chelsea Handler, Howard Stern and his wife Beth. Even Theroux’s aunt Sheila Donnelly, whose husband is the author Paul Theroux, was rendered speechless. Reached Thursday, Donnelly demurred repeatedly, “I’m sorry. I can’t.”
With a bevy of ultraluxe resort clients, including seven Four Seasons properties, perhaps publicist Donnelly was more vocal about guiding the newlyweds to their honeymoon destination, the Four Seasons in Bora Bora.
