Joor has named Leslie Saliba Nasr vice president of retail development. Prior to joining Joor, the New York-based digital platform for ordering fashion wholesale, Nasr was a senior buyer for European couture at Saks Fifth Avenue and a buyer of women’s designer footwear at Bergdorf Goodman. Mona Bijoor, founder and chief executive officer of Joor, said Nasr is responsible for bringing retailers on board Joor’s mobile app. The app is currently being tested with one retailer, but will be launched more generally during the first quarter of next year. Bijoor pointed out that cameras can be used through the app to take and store pictures of merchandise, and it can help integrate ordering information into a retailer’s back-end system. “It enhances cross-channel communication, and it’s a merchandising tool,” said Bijoor. Joor works with 40,000 retailers, about 60 percent of which are international, and 600 brands, including Diane von Furstenberg, Vince and Rag & Bone. Earlier this year, Joor secured $15 million in Series B funding led by Canaan Partners and with participation from Advance Publications, the parent company of Condé Nast and its Fairchild Fashion Media division. The Fairchild division includes WWD and Style.com.
