HOP TO IT: To celebrate its 75th anniversary, the children’s book “Pat the Bunny” teamed with Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, founder of lifestyle blog Romy & the Bunnies, who selected a 14-piece collection of mommy and me items by Charlotte Olympia, Bonpoint and Aden + Anais that will debut at Harrods on March 21. “Growing up in France we didn’t have ‘Pat the Bunny’ but my parents got me one of the books from the same series and I have a picture of me reading that book on the beach in Florida when I was two or three,” said Restoin-Roitfeld, who started the blog for her daughter Romy and other working moms.
“We’re always looking for new ways to tell stories with our properties and for us, the merchandise serves as the ‘content,’ Julia is a curator and she helps bring to life the whole conversation. It’s a way to keep these classic books and movies alive,” said DreamWorks Animation’s global head of creative, design and development Brian Robinson.
Restoin-Roitfeld wore Bonpoint as a child and bought Aden + Anais blankets when Romy was born. As for Charlotte Olympia Dellal, the two are childhood friends. Dellal created the Patty ballet pump and Hop To It sandal for both her girls’ Incy and women’s collections. A fashion collaboration with a children’s book is a first for Harrods. “The limited-edition capsule is an incredibly rare and special partnership. All [brands] are firm favorites with Harrods clients and are in exceptionally high demand,” said Helen David, Harrods fashion director of women’s wear, accessories, fine jewelry and children’s wear. After their Harrods debut, the items will roll out within each brand’s own retail channels.
