A small group of family and close friends attended a funeral service for L’Wren Scott Tuesday afternoon at the Hollywood Forever Funeral Home in Los Angeles.
The private service included blessings and prayers led by Reverend Ed Bacon of the All Saints Church in Pasadena, Calif. There were also memories and words of tribute from Scott’s longtime boyfriend Mick Jagger, her brother Randy Bambrough, as well as her friends Justinian Kfoury, Ira M. Hammons-Glass and Adam Glassman.
Poems were shared by Jagger’s daughter Karis and Scott’s friend Ellen Barkin. Jagger’s other daughter, Jade, read Psalm 139, which begins “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me,” and his grandchildren, Mazie and Zak, read Psalm 23, “The Lord is my shepherd.” Bambrough’s daughter Hannah read Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18, which opens with “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?”
Scott committed suicide March 17 in her New York apartment.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the final resting place for such celebrities as Cecil B. DeMille, Jayne Mansfield, Rudolph Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks and Johnny Ramone.
