MARATHON MAN: Franco-German network Arte is inviting fashion enthusiasts to curl up in front of the television in the midst of Paris Fashion Week for a marathon of programs about Karl Lagerfeld. The highlight of the March 2 lineup is a new 52-minute documentary by Loïc Prigent entitled “Karl Lagerfeld se dessine” (“Karl Lagerfeld draws himself” in English). In it the multitasking designer shares his passion for illustration, sketching everything from his childhood home in Germany to his impressions of Paris when he first arrived with a mission to conquer the fashion world.
The program is bookended with a new, shorter edit of Prigent’s popular “Signé Chanel” saga from 2005 and his “The Day Before: Fendi,” a 2009 film showing the Roman house getting ready for the runway.
