MILAN — Marcolin Group has signed an agreement with Swatch Group Ltd. for the design, production and distribution of the eyewear collections of watch labels Longines and Omega. The first collaboration between Marcolin and Omega dates back to 2016, when the Italian company developed an eyewear range for the timepiece brand.
The renewable agreement is valid until December 2022.
Both the Longines and Omega collections, which will include women and men’s sunglasses and optical frames, will hit stores starting from November.
While the Omega styles will feature details inspired by timepieces’ crowns and bezels, the Longines collection will include three different ranges, called “Classic” for timeless elegance, “Heritage,” inspired by the brand’s rich archives, as well as “Sport,” combining innovation and performance.
Marcolin, which has recently signed a licensing agreement for the production and distribution of Max Mara’s contemporary label Max & Co. eyewear collection, also manufactures the sunglasses and optical frames of a range of international brands, including Tom Ford, Bally, Moncler, Ermenegildo Zegna, Roberto Cavalli and Dsquared2 to name a few, along with the Marcolin Web label.
In September, Marcolin confirmed that its venture set up in 2017 with LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton under the Thélios moniker would manufacture Dior eyewear collections starting in 2021.
