NEW YORK — Marigale Briggs has been promoted to executive vice president of Perry Ellis International, a new post.
Briggs joined the firm in July 1993 as senior vice president of marketing and merchandising. In her new position, she will continue to oversee the same areas she did in her original position — merchandising, marketing and trademark divisions, as well as licensee relations. There will not be a replacement named for her former post, said Claudia Thomas, president and chief executive officer.
Before joining PEI, Briggs was president of EDM Marketing, a firm that aided European catalog companies trying to enter the U.S. Prior to that, she was a national director of the now-defunct catalog division of Sears, Roebuck & Co.
