SCHWAB’S NEW SEASON: London designer Marios Schwab is making another shift away from the mainstream fashion calendar.
After opting to show his collections in one-to-one appointments for fall 2015, the designer has decided to forego the spring 2016 season in London, and will show his next collection in December, during the pre-fall 2016 season. The collection will be Schwab’s main season offering, and he will show it to press and buyers during appointments.
In a statement Friday, Schwab said that “showing collections undefined by seasonal trends…is of growing relevance to my customers. I’ve seen an increasing demand for something new at different times of the year,” and added that “by stepping away from the seasonal calendar I will be able to provide my customers with collections when they really want them.”
According to Schwab, the collection will be made up of an edit of “key wardrobe pieces” with the focus on the designer’s cocktail and eveningwear.
A spokeswoman for the designer declined to comment on Schwab’s planned calendar beyond pre-fall 2016.
