NEW YORK — Andrea Linett has joined Michael Kors as vice president and global creative director, a new post.
Most recently, Linett was creative director for eBay Fashion, and before that, held several positions at magazines, including Harper’s Bazaar and Sassy. Linett also played an instrumental role in the 2000 launch of Lucky magazine, where she served as founding creative director.
John Idol, the company’s chief executive officer, lauded Linett’s “creative experience and business acumen. As we continue to develop our e-commerce division, we are confident that Andrea will facilitate the expansion of our online success through her firm understanding of the aesthetic and vision of the Michael Kors brand.”
Michael Kors went public on the New York Stock Exchange on Dec. 15 and is expected to continue its aggressive expansion both domestically and abroad. Linett is expected to be working across various concepts at the company, and to contribute to the overall consistency and coherence of them. These are likely to range from digital to licenses and global growth.
Linett, who starts today, reports to Kors, as well as Jill Fishman, the company’s senior vice president of licensing, e-commerce and direct marketing.
“I have always admired Michael,” she said. “He has created a world-class luxury lifestyle brand, and I am excited to help expand the brand experience across the globe.”
