PARIS — Michael Schriver has been named president of Louis Vuitton in North Asia, WWD has learned.
According to market sources, Schriver is to officially take up his post in the fall. Schriver is currently chief operating officer at DFS Group, and has been with the duty-free retailer since 1998.
DFS, like Vuitton, is owned by French luxury giant LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
At Vuitton, Schriver succeeds Philippe Fortunato, who is said to be taking on a new assignment within the LVMH group, parent of brands including Givenchy, Emilio Pucci, Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs.
Previously, Fortunato was managing director at Fendi, and before that, the Hong Kong-based president of Asia Pacific for Christian Dior Couture.
