MILAN — Milano Unica said Tuesday that it has appointed Ercole Botto Poala, chief executive officer of vanguard Italian textile company Reda, as its new president.
Botto Poala’s role will commence in preparation of the February 2016 edition of Milano Unica.
Outgoing president Silvio Albini announced his departure at the inaugural ceremony of the 21st edition of Milano Unica, which was presided by fashion leaders such as Claudio Marenzi, president of Italy’s Sistema Moda; Carlo Capasa, president of Italy’s chamber of fashion, and Millard “Mickey” Drexler, president and ceo of J. Crew.
“I believe that if we want to be successful we must protect, safeguard, defend, maintain and reinforce the already strong Italian textile apparel supply chain,” Albini said.
