The runway is sometimes just not enough for those who love to model-watch. For them, Nite Cafe, the newish restaurant/club in New York’s Chelsea area, is fast becoming one of the dependable places to see models. The other night Bridget Hall was the guest of honor at an intimate dinner for 10 — including her mother, Donna, and brother, Josh, who had flown in from Dallas for the occasion — and at the party afterward.
Most people thought it was a birthday party for Hall, but it wasn’t. She was merely being honored just for being her — one of the hottest young models of the moment.
By 10 p.m., a line of young club kids waiting to get in stretched halfway down the block. Of course, Hall pals Ellen Von Unwerth, Ione Skye and Zoe Cassavetes didn’t have to wait at all. Neither did Donovan Leitch and his mates from his band Nancy Boy, who were all decked out in full Glamrock drag.
Nancy Boy didn’t play, but 1st Born 7, headed by Beverly Peele’s husband, Jeff Alexander, did.
The club thinned out after a couple of hours, when the cognoscenti in the crowd headed for a party in Chinatown where there were even more models — Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
