THE PRICE OF LOVE: Olivia Palermo has never been one to shy away from photographers so it was fitting that she tweeted her first wedding photo with Johannes Huebl Sunday afternoon. She told her 300,000-plus Twitter followers, “I’m proud to share exciting news with everyone.”
While the 28-year-old socialite-turned-model lives a much chronicled life, she turned to Carolina Herrera, a designer known for her unmatchable discretion, to design her wedding ensemble. The ponytailed bride opted for a long-sleeve cashmere sweater with scattered ostrich feathers, chic shorts with a tulle skirt overlay with floral details along the hem and a slit that showed a bit of her slim legs. Palermo is using her Web site to show her thanks to Herrera, by linking to the designer’s designated area on Neiman Marcus’ site and also showing her online visitors to $2,290 fur-collared Carolina Herrera cashmere sweater on the Bergdorf Goodman site.
The brand-savvy brunette is also showing some love for Manolo Blahnik, who provided her cobalt satin pumps, by linking to a $965 pair on Bergdorf Goodman’s site. Heubl, who wed in a bespoke white Marc Anthony Hamburg suit and pique shirt, joined his bride in wearing something a little blue — in his case a Charvet tie and Etro pocket square. The Olivia Palermo site also offers links to e-commerce sites that carry variations of the finishing touches worn by Huebl, who serves as head of business and managing partner for his wife’s company.
The lithesome Greenwich, Conn., native didn’t travel too far for her civil ceremony, tying the knot in front of her nearest and dearest in nearby Bedford, N.Y. “We really wanted to keep this beautiful day very private and special to us and enjoyed the whole day with our family and two friends,” Palermo says on her site. “Bedford is such an amazing and romantic countryside.”
By the time the sun was about to call it a night, the couple of six-and-a-half years was ready to make tracks, and headed back into the city.
