PATRICK’S DAY: Patrick Grant, owner of the Savile Row tailor Norton & Sons and the men’s rtw label E. Tautz is adding a new — and more commercial — collection to his design portfolio. Hammond & Co. by Patrick Grant, a collection of suits, formal clothing and sportswear for men, will launch at the British department store Debenhams for fall. Grant joins fellow British designers Matthew Williamson, John Rocha, Henry Holland, and Jasper Conran in creating dedicated collections for the Designers at Debenhams range.
Grant’s collection is inspired by the original tailor Hammond & Co., which was founded in 1776 and made suits for British andEuropean royals. “Hammond & Co is a house with a great history ofexcellence in sporting tailoring, and we have done our best to remain true to this heritage,” said Grant, who owns the name. The range is comprised of 70 designs across clothing and accessories, and is part of the store’s push to build up its market share in men’s wear. The range is priced from 14 pounds, or $21 at current exchange, to 299 pounds, or $452, and will be available in 50 stores in the U.K. and online at Debenhams.com from September.
