MILAN — Marco de Vincenzo will be the women’s wear guest designer at the 89th edition of men’s wear trade show Pitti Uomo, slated for Jan. 12 to 15 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence. Organizers on Thursday confirmed speculation that the young designer was headed to Florence, which had surfaced earlier this month.
According to Pitti Immagine, de Vincenzo is “one of the best Italian talents in the world,” whose collection organizers want to showcase with a performance in a new space. The Rome-based designer, a former winner of Vogue Italia’s “Who is on Next?” talent search also consults on accessories collections for Fendi, while developing his ready-to-wear label under his namesake brand. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has a minority stake in de Vincenzo’s company.
“I’m happy about this invitation from Pitti that will give me the opportunity to contextualize my fashion as part of an artistic project,” said De Vincenzo.
Pitti Immagine also confirmed Juun.J as the first men’s wear guest designer from Korea, as well as Adidas Originals by White Mountaineering for the designer project.
