PORTER’S PLAN: Porter, the fashion title launched by Net-a-porter nearly two years ago, will announce the results of its first official audit in February, while principals have reconfirmed their commitment to the title.
According to Alison Loehnis, president of the Net-a-porter Group, the title is “exceeding expectations both in terms of critical acclaim, circulation and commercial power. We are excited to announce the results of its first global audit in February.”
She told WWD in a statement: “Federico [Marchetti, chief executive officer of Yoox Net-a-porter Group] and I believe Porter is fundamental to the wider (group’s) brand strategy, and we are excited about its future.”
The print title, which publishes six times a year, is sold in more than 60 countries and has a subscriber base of more than 32,000, according to the company. Porter has a global circulation of more than 152,500.
The audit will be conducted by the U.S.-based global media agency BPA Worldwide.
Over the past year, Porter has won a series of awards and the title’s editor in chief Lucy Yeomans was named editor of the year at the recent British Society of Magazine Editors’ Awards.
Later this week, Yeomans will be in conversation with Diane von Furstenberg in an event hosted by the CFDA at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York. As reported, Yeomans and von Furstenberg will discuss how the global nature of fashion impacts American designers and their businesses.
During her stay in New York, Yeomans was set to host an Incredible Women dinner tonight, but the event has been postponed as some guests were unable to attend due to the current global travel alert.
The dinner was meant to mark the inaugural “100 Incredible Women List,” a new magazine feature commemorating women who have challenged the status quo and influenced the world through their achievements. As reported, the list will be released as part of a 33-page editorial supplement in the “Winter Escape” issue of Porter, which will go on sale Dec. 4. The supplement and inaugural list is sponsored by Elizabeth Arden.
