Saks Fifth Avenue, seeking greater space within the highly productive Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, will relocate to a wing of the shopping center that’s part of an expansion project.
Saks said its new store will be three levels with 180,000 square feet and that it will open in fall 2019, as an anchor to the new wing. The existing store has 142,277 square feet and opened in 1976.
“Bal Harbour has been a key market for Saks Fifth Avenue,” said Marc Metrick, president of Saks Fifth Avenue. The relocation will enable Saks to expand its assortment of designer merchandise including women’s ready-to-wear, men’s wear, jewelry, shoes and handbags.
In another Miami project, Saks plans to open a store in Brickell City Centre, currently under development, in fall 2016, as previously announced.
