MILAN — The Ferragamo Foundation and the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum will unveil a new exhibition in Florence on May 18.
“Across Art and Fashion” is to explore links between two creative realms that mutually influenced each other over centuries.
The showcase — organized in collaboration with several cultural institutions, including Florence Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale, the Gallerie degli Uffizi, Museo Marino Marini and Prato’s Textile Museum — is curated by fashion expert Maria Luisa Frisa, along with Enrica Morini, Stefania Ricci and Alberto Salvadori.
Among the pieces to go on display are a Salvatore Ferragamo pump inspired by the Fifties’ work of American artist Kenneth Noland; an Elsa Schiaparelli dress designed in collaboration with Salvador Dalí in the Thirties; a Piet Mondrian-inspired Yves Saint Laurent dress; a Hussein Chalayan wooden corset; as well as a dress realized by Undercover creative director Jun Takahashi.
“Across Art and Fashion” is to remain open to the public through April 7, 2017.
