Just in time for the holiday shopping season, ShopRunner Inc. has expanded its stable of brands and retailers for its members via partnerships with Reebok, Avon, Derek Lam and Scotch & Soda.
The company said the brands offered are “elevating” the shopping experience for online consumers. Although not mentioned in the statement, but newly listed on ShopRunner’s Web site, are Ralph Lauren and Adidas as participating partners.
The other new brands to the site include Black Halo, Current/Elliott, Equipment, Harley Davidson New York City, Joie, Veronica Beard, Ahava, DermStore, Space NK and 1-800-Flowers. The brands join others on the site that include Tommy Hilfiger, Brooks Brothers, American Eagle Outfitters, Calvin Klein and Lord & Taylor.
Scott Thompson, chief executive officer of ShopRunner, said as digital and mobile commerce “accelerate this holiday season, ShopRunner is partnering with brands and retailers to strategically ramp up their e-commerce services and ensure their online experience is more accessible, engaging, and competitive.”
Online shoppers who are members can receive free two-day shipping, express checkout, special offers and more hassle-free returns. For participating brands and retailers, they can gain access to ShopRunner’s 2.5-plus million members. The company added that its members tend to make more frequent online buys of more product quantities than typical consumers.
ShopRunner is positioned squarely against Amazon Prime in the market. But there are notable differences — specifically in the brands and retailers on ShopRunner, which is described by the company as “more diverse.” The brands range from North Face to Prada, with retailers running the gamut from Neiman Marcus to Staples. American Express card members are also eligible for a free ShopRunner membership.
ShopRunner is heading into its sixth year and is an e-commerce start-up that was backed by Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. as well as Kynetic and American Express.
