LONDON — Robert Singer, the former president and chief executive of Abercrombie & Fitch and former chief financial officer of Gucci Group, has been named executive advisor to the private equity firm CCMP Capital Advisors LLC.
According to a statement by CCMP, Singer will be focusing on investment opportunities in the consumer and retail sectors in Europe. He will work in conjunction with CCMP’s London-based senior members Bob McGuire and Thomas Walker on CCMP’s investments in Europe.
CCMP specializes in upper-middle market buyouts and growth equity investments of $100 million to $500 million in the U.S. and Europe. It has offices in New York, Houston and London. CCMP has so far focused on investments in consumer, industrial, energy and health care businesses.
Singer was most recently chief executive of Barilla Holding SpA, and is a director of companies including Gianni Versace, Coty, Labelux and Cris Conf SpA, which owns the fashion brand Pinko.
