LIP SERVICE: Solange Azagury-Partridge is teaming with Amazon.co.uk once again, and this time she’s selling a version of her perpetually popular Hotlips ring, which she designed in 1995.
The ring is made from sterling silver — rather than gold — and finished in colored lacquer. It comes in a palette of six shades: Red, nude, purple, black cherry, bubble gum pink and orange blossom.
The rings are priced at 69 pounds, or $107 at current exchange, and go on sale Oct. 21.
The designer will also be selling pieces from her mainline collection, including three rings; a Heart of Darkness pendant; and Real Fake and Lone Star earrings. Prices for those pieces range from 1,900 pounds, or $2,937, for the Lone Star earrings to 18,500 pounds, or $28,595, for the Vices and Virtues Ring.
Azagury-Partridge told WWD she wanted to offer this latest version of Hotlips for a number of reasons. “It’s been one of my bestsellers for so long now, but as I’ve stopped selling silver jewelry in my shops, I thought Amazon would be the perfect outlet: Accessible to so many more people, and a different market to my own.”

She said the original lips design came about because “I used to be a big letter writer in my youth, before e-mailing and texting, and I would sign my letters with a lipstick kiss (cheesy but youthful). So this felt like the third version of that. Such a sweet gift to give and receive.”
She added that the ring is a “smidge smaller all around,” compared with her original gold and lacquer ones.
This is the second time Azagury-Partridge has worked with Amazon.co.uk. Last November, she launched the Talisman Collection of five silver and lacquer charms on silver chains. The charms’ design came from her main collections, and included a pair of lips, an eye, a sun, a heart and a rainbow.
At the time, Azagury-Partridge said she loved being able to reach a wider audience, and that she does a lot of shopping on Amazon and eBay. “They’re my favorite shops.”
Julian-Exposito Bader, head of vendor management for jewelry at Amazon EU, said the collection is being launched in time for Christmas, and will be available to Amazon customers across Europe.
