For its first Berlin fashion week presentation, Berlin-based men’s wear label Sopopular took a linear approach to what designer Daniel Blechman considers long-term fashion staples for the contemporary urban male. Shorts were a sure shot, although Sopopular’s were more like short pants — to the knee or even below — than any manner of Bermudas, and not meant to be worn casually. He showed them with tailored sleeveless shirts in a batik-over-gingham print, or a trim short-sleeved top, mini bowtie and slim suspenders. Another pair of the bottoms featured contrasting cuffs and waistband, worn with a similarly accented shirt.
