Biker gangs, hip-hop and the Harlem jazz era fed Danish label Soulland’s terrific spring collection. Staged before a giant graffiti mural by the American artist Charlie Roberts, it included jacquard suits styled as separates, and a fabulous horizontal-striped linen suit enlivened with a graffiti-print hoodie.
Many fabrics were invented and produced in its Copenhagen studio: hits included technical nylon overalls, a shirt embroidered with needle-press felting and a navy jacquard robe with a subtle palm print for a “Miami mafia boss vibe,” according to the creative director Silas Adler. In addition to the aforementioned mural, a hand-painted leather jacket also bore Roberts’ illustrations.
