British supermarket chain Tesco is getting into the beauty treatment business.
The store has begun to trial nail bars, eyebrow threading, waxing and hair styling and coloring at a handful of units outside London and near Manchester, England.
There are no appointments necessary, and the units will also be stocking products such as the Redken and Tigi Bed Head hair care ranges.
“We recognize the beauty market is a huge opportunity, and we know there is a lot more we can be offering our customers,” said Andrew Carpenter, beauty category manager at Tesco. “We are only at the testing stage, and keen to understand how our customers receive the service in these stores.”
Prices will range from 10 pounds, or $16, for a half-leg wax to 20 pounds, or $32, for a cut and blow dry. All figures have been calculated at current exchange rates.
