THE NEW RAT PACK: Kanye West and his entourage used to make grand entrances by dressing in a riot of clashing colors and patterns (captured brilliantly in an episode of “South Park”). Now, however, they have adopted a regulation that they all must wear sharply tailored, designer suits. Dubbed the Rosewood Movement, the cleaned-up look is part of West’s effort to turn over a new leaf after last year’s flameout, including his infamous outburst at the Video Music Awards against winner Taylor Swift. In recent interviews, he stresses good manners and not swearing. For the past week, his entourage has worn a uniform of Dior Homme black suits, and is said to be wearing Dior for West’s upcoming tour.
CANDY TREAT: Dylan Lauren may have just gotten engaged, as reported by the New York Post, but that hasn’t stopped her from thinking about fashion — and candy. For Fashion’s Night Out on Sept. 10, Dylan’s Candy Bar has teamed up with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), enlisting six of the school’s students to design couture candy dresses for display in the flagship’s windows. Made of everything from jawbreakers to crushed candy canes to Bubble Tape, the dresses will be judged by Lauren, SCAD dean and former Saks fashion director Michael Fink and André Leon Talley. “Not only are they coming up with the creative designs on how to use the candy, but now the reality of how to use the properties of the candy and make it truly a fabric,” Fink said.

Voters who visit Facebook, Twitter or the Dylan’s Candy Bar Web site will ultimately decide on the best dress, and the winning designer will fly to New York to attend a yet-to-be-determined fashion week show. There are also talks of having the winning dress displayed in a major department store where Dylan’s has a wholesale shop, Lauren said.
MAG SWAG: Who says you need to have a reason to throw a party? Just about every magazine in the postrecession economy is holding back unless there’s an issue to promote, but InStyle proved it had party dollars to burn last Friday as editor Ariel Foxman hosted its ninth annual Summer Soiree and gift lounge in a palatial hilltop manse that dwarfed the bashes thrown earlier in the week by Lucky, Details and Nylon. “It really is just for the sake of having a party,” said Foxman. It was also a chance for publicists to trot out their clients, including television stars Cat Deeley, David Annable, Jessica Capshaw, Shenae Grimes and Michelle Trachtenberg, pre-Emmys. Those looking to segue into film, take note. “The Kids Are All Right” star Josh Hutcherson may have been casting. At 17, Hutcherson just signed a deal to star in and produce the teen horror spoof “Detention.”
