Thomas Pink may be a British company, but it’s getting involved in the American presidential process.
The U.K. shirt brand has collaborated with The Mayflower hotel in Washington to create the Election Collection, a curated portfolio of patriotic apparel and accessories.
The stylists at Thomas Pink have created two looks — one for men and one for women — that were inspired by the candidates, presidential colors and themes of the company. They include shirts and accessories such as a pocket square and a tie with an elephant motif, and a tie and gingham socks in red and navy. The women’s shirt sports a tie at the neck and is in a scarlet red pattern. The ties will retail for $135, the pocket square for $75 and the socks for $25.
Two mannequins sporting the looks will be on display in the hotel’s lobby starting next week. Guests of The Mayflower can purchase the items in the collection for a preferred rate of 20 percent off between Sept. 15 and the election on Nov. 8.
The Mayflower is one of the city’s most historic properties and has played host to inaugural balls and been the home-away-from-home to presidents and heads of state ranging from Calvin Coolidge and Winston Churchill to Barack Obama.
The hotel is located at 1127 Connecticut Ave NW.
