SUNDANCE STYLE: Todd Oldham teamed up with the Sundance Institute to create a line of eco-friendly t-shirts, patches, buttons and totes called Todd Oldham for the Sundance Film Festival for the 2013 fest, which runs Jan. 17-27. Oldham also used recycled banners from past festivals to create bags and wallets, and the majority of items retail for less than $50. “It is not only the new voices and points of view, but pictures that people have pretty much killed themselves over to get on the screen,” said Oldham of his inspiration for the line. Other artists, including Mike Mills, Shirin Neshat, Stacy Peralta, Parker Posey, Amy Sedaris, Morgan Spurlock, John Waters and Mike White contributed to a Sundance Film Festival Editions line that will also benefit the Institute. For example, Lauren Greenfield designed shirts, Susan Sarandon created a graphic for a tote and 26 illustrators contributed drawings inspired by festival films to the book “Sundance A to Z.” The merchandise will be available Dec. 17 online and at the festival’s stores in Park City, Utah.
