Tommy Fazio has a new boss — himself.
The former president of Project and men’s fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman has created a fashion consulting and events company based in California called Surf705.com. Fazio is serving as president.
The former retailer and trade show executive is also pondering the launch of his own brand, which would be called by the same name, he revealed. “If and when I do my own brand, the label will be 705. The idea is California lifestyle meets Martin Margiela. Chic.”
Fazio joined Project in 2012 and was also in charge of men’s wear for the trade show’s parent company, Advanstar Fashion Group, which is now owned by UBM plc.
Before joining Project, he was men’s fashion and trend director for Nordstrom. He had also been president of Simon Spurr, men’s fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman, and vice president of men’s collections at Calvin Klein.
